Why this blog?

Bikes should be everywhere and used by everyone. But our country’s urban design is too auto centric and our culture too aristocratic, proud….and busy to embrace this idea.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. And drawing and photographing is one of my loves. So bringing picture making to the plight of this simple vehicle - waiting patiently for its time in this country – seems like a good thing to do.
This post is designed to capture the passion for bicycles as freedom vehicles. The goal of this blog is to share the celebration of the bicycle commuting, sport touring and trail riding in the form of visual media mostly, with a few words added for good measure. It is the theory of this writer that this process will unfold into an organic image mind-stream of experiences. A hope is that the content of this site remains an interesting experience for other velo enthusiasters. My request to the reading community is to let me know when and why this blog starts to suck…at anytime.
Not sure I will make any kooky pledges – say to ride my bike at least one hour every day for a year. But I will pledge to always carry my camera with me and capture images that move me and that I think others would like to see.
Nuff said.
